Pobal - Guides for Governance, Financial and HR for the Community, Voluntary and Not for Profit Sector (UPDATED)

In 2011, Pobal produced a series of guides to support good practice in governance, financial management and HR within the community, voluntary and not-for-profit sector.

With many legislative and other changes over the past 7 years, the Managing Better series of guides have now been revised and re-designed to support boards and management within the sector to understand the wider legal environment around good governance, while offering guidance on how to effect good governance in practice.  The guides are available to download or view below, in 3 volumes. A more formal launch of the guides will take place later in 2018.

DYCA has published a list of qualifications that meet the regulatory requirements for working in the Early Years sector in Ireland. The list can be viewed on their website.

This list contains all qualifications which have been approved by DCYA. It also sets out the appropriate level of DCYA approval (i.e. meets regulatory requirements; eligible for Room Leader - standard capitation; eligible for Room Leader - higher capitation).  If your qualification is on the list you do not need to apply to DCYA for qualifications recognition. Just provide a copy of your qualification to your employer along with a copy of the page on the list on which it appears.

If however your qualification does not appear on the list you can fill in  pdf DCYA Early Years Qualification Recognition Application Form (557 KB) and post to DCYA (all details on application form).
