An Cosán is currently recruiting a number of Early Years Educators (both full-time and part-time) for our Early Years’ Services in Tallaght and Cabra, Dublin.
We are seeking enthusiastic experienced early childhood professionals who are committed to providing high-quality early childhood care and education to children and families of all socio-economic backgrounds. The role holders should be flexible, warm and caring. They will be expected to carry out all tasks related to the role of the Early Years Educators, and with their colleagues and other teams within the organisation.

An Cosán
An Cosán (Irish for ‘The Path’) is Ireland’s largest community education organisation. The mission of An Cosán is to bring about social equality and an end to poverty through community-based adult education, the provision of early years supports, wrap around counselling services, and empowering social enterprise development. The early years department of An Cosán is significant in size with 7 services in total across Dublin City. There are three services in Tallaght, three in Cabra and one in Whitehall. We use the HighScope Approach, which is academically proven to have significantly better outcomes for children, and we train our educators in the implementation of this curriculum.
Primary Responsibility
To implement the An Cosán Early Years Education and Care early years curriculum in accordance with the An Cosán Early Years Education and Care policies and procedures document under the supervision of the Early Years Manager.
Key Responsibilities
o To implement the curriculum approach within the pre-school room
o To implement and adhere to the policies and procedures as documented in the An Cosán Early Years Education and Care policies and procedures document (which will incorporate the relevant HSE Pre–School Regulations).
o To liaise with parents individually and to attend group meetings when requested in relation to the development of the children.
o To act as a Key Worker for specific child/children in accordance with the procedures documented in the An Cosán Early Years Education and Care policies and procedures document.
o To ensure full compliance with all record–keeping obligations (both paper and soft copy).
o To take personal responsibility for compliance with Health & Safety obligations (including food safety, fire safety and insurance requirements).
o To take personal responsibility for compliance with Child Protection obligations as documented in “Children First” The National Guidance for the Protection and Welfare of Children.
o To minimise wastage and costs of materials used.
o To bring any non-compliances relating to quality of care and education, Health & Safety, Child Protection or financial management to the manager with a view to achieving compliance.
o To carry out any other duties consistent with the role of Early Years Educator as requested by the Early Years Education Manager.

Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge
Essential
o QQI Level 5 or above in Early Childhood Care and Education or Equivalent. Level 7 is desirable and subject to a higher rate of pay.
o At least one years’ experience in early years.
o Experience in working in a medium sized team
o Working knowledge of implementing a play-based, child centred curriculum approach
o Working knowledge of early years policies and procedures

o Knowledge or qualification in HighScope

We are seeking an Early Years Educator to join our friendly and welcoming team, here at Réaltaí Beaga. We are a Naíonra based preschool taking part in the ECCE scheme.
We run two sessions every day. The morning session is 8:30-11:30 and the afternoon session is 12:00-3:00. The contracted hours would be 8:15-3:15 Monday to Friday for the academic year.
Our curriculum is a mixed curriculum of Montessori, Highscope and child led. A good knowledge of the foundations of Aistear and Síolta would be favourable. We have a strong emphasis on creativity and independence also.
